Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to all of our family and friends. We are so thankful for all of our family and friends, near and far, who have touched our lives in many ways this year.

Here's a pic of our family on Christmas day:

Here's to a wonderful 2009!

The Best Christmas Program Ever!

Oh my - our church Christmas program was last night and I have to say it was one of the best. The children sang, did their parts well and just generally looked cute. I laughed and enjoyed the entire thing! For those of you that came - I hope you enjoyed it. For those of you who couldn't - you missed the angels and shepard that needed to go to the bathroom. The angels that got tired and sat down, one tied her shoe, one took off her socks and all were adorable. In the older children, Logan scratched his foot (imagine bringing let up to knee and he was barefoot) and one child yawned the entire time. Honestly though all of those things made it (and those of you who have been to Christmas programs understand). Logan was wonderful - he read his part so well and he sang - we are so proud of him. Here are a few highlights from the night:

Logan in his "Joseph" costume

Logan as "Joseph"

The angels - notice tying shoes and holding dress up and also the little girl on the left has one sock on and one off - and four of them are sitting down

Logan doing his speaking part - he read it so well with emphasis and clearly

A serious conversation with the pastor? :)
Logan talking with Paul after it was over.

More pics to come soon, but I just had to share these with everyone!

Family get-together in August

Here are some pics from our family get-together in August. Aunt Pudd and Uncle Lee came down from Raleigh with Aaron and Heather and then it was Jeff, David, Stacey, Michael, us and the boys. It was a fun time for all of us!

My boys also had an affinity for the blue thing:

And here Jacob wiped his nice chocolate chip cookie hands on Mr. Michael's white shirt. :)

Here's some more produce from our tiny garden this year:
And finally - the fleece pullover I sewed for Mitch (yes I have added sewing to my hobbies - like I needed another one) He's very pleased with it and it has kept him warm a few mornings already this year.
Love you all!

Coming soon - pics of my new haircut for those who haven't seen it. Just a clue - it's much shorter :)

Rainbows and Mom's birthday - plus some adorable misc. pictures

It's a dreary day here on the Crystal Coast (though it is much needed rain so I'm not complaining) so here's a pretty picture we saw on our front porch two weeks ago. Jacob really loved the colors in the rainbow and keeps asking when we can see another :)

And here are finally some pictures from Mom's 60th b-day back in July, a lot of you know I made the scrapbook for her and she was thrilled with what I did and everyone's contributions - it all touched her so much so thank you for being a part of her gift.

I forgot to buy the zero candle - so we had more fun with 10 candles and the 6 candle - it really lit up her birthday cake! And of course - our eater of everything enjoyed some cake also!

Here's some misc. pics from the summer:

Buckwheat seems to like Jacob's underwear (that he's still not wearing sigh . . .)
Just thought this was good:
Logan and his missing teeth (which the top teeth are almost all the way in now)
The waterfront one night we went to walk:
Hunter out on Granddaddy's boat (he poses so well!):
And my boys out on the boat (Jacob and his say cheese face)
And my absolute favorite picture - taken on the way home on the Friday that Tropical Storm Hanna was to come through. Ummm, we live on the coast, we don't need Walgreens to announce the Tropical Storm warning - we all knew about it. And the thing was - the nor'easter that came through about a week later was a lot worse than Tropical Storm Hanna

Is it time for second grade already?

I can't believe it - Logan started second grade today and yes we are later than everyone else - we have campus construction going on and since we are a charter school we get to go back whenever the administration decides.

So he started back today and yesterday he was 2% excited. Last night he was 50% excited and I forgot to ask him this morning. I do know he said he wasn't nervous. Which was good, I was a nervous wreck for the both of us (traffic, having to carry in three bags of school supplies, having to carry Jacob while carrying school supplies . . . )

It went well - we were slightly late due to traffic but we weren't the last ones for sure. He's now at the age where pictures are getting not too cool at school, but he grudgingly let me get a few. I got a smile for one at the school at least when his best friend's dad made him laugh.

So without further commentary - here's the reason you come to this blog - pictures!

Now tell me why I miss him so much today? I work every week day - he stayed with Papa for the summer, but I miss him now. I think I'm just thinking about him growing up. Take care everyone!

Miscellaneous goings-on in the Fulcher house

First we have Logan with his new buzz cut (and the two missing teeth)

Here are some of the photos from supper at Steve and Bernadette's (and birthday celebration for Mitch):
This is Logan's self-portrait (pretty good huh?)

And here is the newest member of the Fulcher Family - meet Buckwheat - we got him from Stacey and he's fitting in the family quite well. He and Jacob get along especially well. Logan is not fond of Buckwheat's love of chasing anything that moves under the covers :) Now we all sleep with our bedroom doors closed - at least until we get him declawed.

Here's our first trip to the beach/sound this year - yes we live here at the beach and this is the first time we went (at the end of July). This happened last year and now we'll spend a lot of the weekends in August and September there.

Here's Mitch and I all ready to go out for the evening (for his birthday celebration):

And finally for now - Mitch's birthday celebration at Mom and Dad's - I'd say he had a pretty good birthday since it went from Friday to Sunday!

Notice a resemblance?

I'm honestly not sure what Logan was doing here, but it's pretty funny and cute!
