Logan's Last Day of School and the Newest Member of the Fulcher Family
First - here's Logan on the last day of school which was yesterday - he is thrilled to have 3rd grade behind him. I'm terrified that I will now have a 4th grader and a kindergartner. He did great on his EOGs which was a load off of his mind. Now it's on to summer which means Cub Scout Day Camp next week and then time spent with Papa.
And the newest member of the Fulcher family arrived yesterday (no no more kids - I'm done with that). Mitch picked Logan up after his half day and they headed up to our animal shelter and came away with this dog, who is approximately 3 months old and a golden retriever/lab mix. He's adorable, clumsy and a lot of fun. He doesn't have a name yet, but hopefully by tonight he will.

SNOW!!!!
Yes I know a lot of you have had snow and are sick of it, but we here on the coast kept getting teased and told it would snow only to have it rain. So we weren't real hopeful last night. Then at 9:30 Mitch noticed it was really snowing and we already had a dusting. When I was up at 4am I knew it had really snowed. At 7:30 we were in awe of the snow. First measurement near the house was 7.5", official middle of the yard measurement is 8.5". We've had snowball fights, made a small snow man and Mitch rode up and down the road with his 4-wheeler pulling a snow sled that we've had in the attic of the garage for about 5 years! Mitch got it to help haul deer - but it's a lot more fun as a sled. Check out the pictures and enjoy. I'm inside now with a cup of coffee and dry clothes :)

All the fun you can have in one afternoon . . .
Just a glimpse at our life two days before Christmas - sorry for the lack of Christmas card/pictures this year - but here are some of the boys decorating gingerbread houses and trees (the icing tastes good - just ask Jacob). Then we decorated the tree, yes it's a small one - it's been a crazy Christmas season since I had brain surgery three weeks before Christmas.
I would have put up pics of me but I didn't have on makeup and I needed a shower - oh the fun of days where you don't have to go anywhere.
Oh and Mitch hasn't seen the deer head yet - I don't have stocking holders out since I didn't dig in our Christmas decorations, so I improvised.
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!

SNOW!
Okay so this is over a week after the event, but it's better late than never!
Last Tuesday we got snow here on the coast - everyone knows what a rare occurrence that is (and I hear those of you up in Mt. Airy didn't get any :( ).

I think all Jacob wanted to do was eat it:

Buckwheat wasn't sure about it:
The funny story that goes along with this is one of Logan's friends mom called that morning and wanted to get Logan. They live about 40 minutes away so we typically meet them halfway. I didn't want to leave because I knew it was supposed to really snow that afternoon (we got a dusting in the morning), but he wanted to go and Mitch said he would take him. So off they went. About 2:30 it started snowing, then at 3:30 we noticed the roads were starting to get slushy. We called and Mitch met them and picked Logan up early. The drive home usually takes 20 minutes - it took them over an hour to get home because of traffic and road conditions! I hear they later closed the high rise bridge too. But they got home safely:

So snowball fights and snow angels and playtime in the snow. I told the kids to enjoy it because I didn't know the next time they would see it again!

Honestly - I wanted it, I enjoyed it, but the next day I was glad when it started melting!
More later - Mitch took some great pics of scenery while he was out in the snow and of course I need to do Christmas!

30 years difference
If you can you should really look back through your old pictures when you can. I was just glancing through some pics on the computer today and noticed some from when I went to Ferrystone and also to Tweetsie Railroad back in 1976. That made me think about when Mom and Dad took Logan to Tweetsie to see Thomas and it was funny to see that it was in 2006 - 30 years apart. But the similarities are there. Logan and Jacob have also been to Ferrystone. I don't remember it, but Logan will and he loves it. I know it's changed through the years, but so much is the same too. Just take a look. What's really cool too is the fact that in the pics of me I'm with my cousins Tammy and Kathy. In the recent pics Logan is there with his cousins, Kathy's children, Austin and Alyssa. It's so cool to see this!
